New Book on Lost Girls

There has been a growing awareness of the lost boys of Sudan, but there is very little information about the lost girls. Soon to be released is Dark Exodus, The Lost Girls of Sudan by Beverly Parkhurst Moss chronicling the journey of fifteen survivors:

Rebecca was just a toddler when the Janjaweed attacked her village in Sudan. While her home burned and her loved ones died, an older boy picked her up and ran. When he put her down, someone else picked her up and ran again. And so it went on until years later she found her way into the refugee camp in Kenya.
Then there’s Margaret. She and her family ran from village to village. Then, one day, as she fled again, she saw the soldiers kill her father in cold blood.
Mama Achol, not only carried her three children through the desert, she also carried her sister’s children.

50% of the proceeds of Dark Exodus go to a fund for the Lost Girls educations and to help them get their loved ones out of the refugee camps.
